Our purpose built facilities and specialised programmes service  the technology and visual arts

needs of our students (and also St Joseph’s School).

In Technology students learn the correct processes in order to create a solution for an authentic issue. This process includes learning knowledge, researching, developing skills, being creative and producing and evaluating the final outcome.

All students attend the Technology Centre for approximately 2 hours a week. They rotate around the three technology rooms every term experiencing Hard Materials, Biotechnology (Y7), Electronics (Y8) and Food Technology. The main focus is on learning in the Technological Practice strand. The students will develop knowledge of the Technology process and begin to understand the language of Technology.  The fourth rotation is Visual Arts.

The teaching staff come from a range of backgrounds and their specialist knowledge in their respective areas is extensive, allowing them to offer  students a depth of technology education that is interesting and motivating.

The workshops are well resourced and offer students access to a wide range of materials and processes to explore, design and make products and systems that meet human needs.
